June 18, 2025 — A wave of pride swept through Marion County as 34 students from Marion County Acceleration Academies received their high school diplomas, a remarkable achievement highlighted by WCJB-ABC 20 and 352today.
In her interview with 352today, Dr. Diane Gullett, superintendent of Marion County Public Schools, captured the significance of the moment, saying: “Today says it all. To see these graduates, their families, to hear some of their stories and talking to staff earlier brings such joy to me because when we talk about choice, this is a choice. And for many of these students who may not have had a diploma otherwise to get across the finish line, it’s a game changer for the future. And for some of them, generationally.”

Graduation at Acceleration Academies is more than a ceremony; it’s a celebration of perseverance, accelerated learning, and the ability to overcome personal and academic challenges. Each student’s journey reflects a deep commitment to achieving their goals and the wraparound support system provided by the academy’s dedicated educators and mentors..
WCJB spoke with academy director Dr. Keyana Lyde, who shared her enthusiasm about the Acceleration Academies program and outcomes: “It is very exciting; it is so rewarding for us. I think as a team that is the best part about what we do and especially because we have prided ourselves in building rapport and establishing relationships with these students and so a lot of times we understand where they are coming from you know the challenges and barriers they have met and have dealt with to get to this point.”
Congratulations to these inspiring graduates! Your hard work and determination have paved the way for a brighter future!
