1. Introduction & Acceptance of Terms
By enrolling in or continuing enrollment with Acceleration Academies, LLC (“Acceleration Academies,” “we,”
“us,” or “our”), and by providing your phone number or the phone number of your child’s parent or guardian
during the enrollment process, you (“you,” “your,” or “user”) acknowledge and agree to these Messaging
Terms & Conditions (“Messaging Terms”). These Messaging Terms govern the use of Acceleration
Academies’ myConnect messaging platform (“myConnect” or “the Service”) and supplement the Acceleration
Academies Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Messaging Terms, you may opt out of receiving messages at any time as
described in Section 5 below. Opting out of messaging does not affect your enrollment status or access to
educational services.

2. Description of Service
myConnect is a communication platform operated by Acceleration Academies that enables authorized staff
members (“Staff”) to send and receive SMS (Short Message Service) and MMS (Multimedia Messaging
Service) messages to and from students and their parents or legal guardians (“Recipients”). The Service is
used exclusively for educational and institutional purposes, including but not limited to:
• Academic check-ins and progress updates
• Enrollment and registration communications
• Attendance follow-ups
• Coursework and assignment reminders
• Scheduling and event notifications
• Emergency and safety alerts
• General well-being and engagement outreach
• Parent and guardian communications regarding student progress or conduct
• Institutional announcements and deadline reminders
The Service is not used for marketing, advertising, promotional offers, political messaging, or any commercial
solicitation.

3. Consent to Receive Messages
3.1 How Consent Is Obtained
By providing a mobile phone number on the enrollment application — whether your own (as a student) or that
of a parent or legal guardian — you consent to receive SMS and MMS messages from Acceleration
Academies through the myConnect platform. Consent is obtained as part of the enrollment process and is
documented in the enrollment records maintained by Acceleration Academies.

3.2 Scope of Consent
Your consent covers one-to-one messages from your assigned academic advisor, content coach, guidance
counselor, or other authorized Staff member; group notifications sent to multiple students or guardians
simultaneously regarding academic, administrative, or safety matters; automated system messages including
enrollment confirmations, deadline reminders, and emergency alerts; and media messages (MMS) which may
include images or documents related to academic materials.

3.3 Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on your engagement with Acceleration Academies. You may receive
anywhere from zero to several messages per week from your assigned Staff member. During critical periods
(enrollment deadlines, emergencies, or academic interventions), message frequency may temporarily
increase. Acceleration Academies does not send messages for the purpose of bulk marketing or unsolicited
advertising.

3.4 Guardian and Parent Consent
When a student is under the age of 18, the parent or legal guardian who provides contact information during
enrollment consents on behalf of themselves and the minor student to receive messages through the Service.
Guardians may receive messages regarding their child’s academic progress, attendance, conduct, or other
educational matters.

3.5 No Condition of Service
Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of enrollment, continued enrollment, or receipt of
educational services from Acceleration Academies. You may opt out at any time without penalty as described
in Section 5.

4. Content & Standards

4.1 Content Guidelines
All messages sent through myConnect are subject to Acceleration Academies’ standards of professional
conduct. Staff members are trained to communicate in a manner that is professional and respectful, relevant
to the student’s educational experience, appropriate for communication between educational staff and
students or their guardians, and free from discriminatory, harassing, threatening, or inappropriate language.

4.2 Content Moderation
Acceleration Academies employs automated content screening on all messages sent and received through
the Service. This screening is designed to detect and prevent the transmission of inappropriate, harmful, or
abusive content; identify and block messages containing personally identifiable information such as Social

Security numbers, financial account numbers, or other sensitive data; and flag messages that may require
administrative review. Messages flagged or blocked by the automated screening system may be reviewed by
authorized administrative personnel. Acceleration Academies reserves the right to review, flag, block, or
remove any message transmitted through the Service.

4.3 Message Retention
Messages sent and received through the Service are retained by Acceleration Academies as part of the
student’s educational record and for institutional record-keeping purposes. Retention periods are governed by
applicable federal and state education records retention requirements and Acceleration Academies’ internal
data retention policies.

4.4 No Expectation of Privacy
While Acceleration Academies respects the privacy of communications, users should be aware that
messages transmitted through the Service are subject to review by authorized personnel for quality
assurance, compliance, safety, and content moderation purposes. Users should not have an expectation of
absolute privacy in messages sent through or received via the Service.

5. Opting Out & Managing Preferences

5.1 How to Opt Out
You may opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by:
• Replying STOP to any message received from the Service
• Contacting your Content Coach or academic advisor directly
• Contacting Acceleration Academies administration in writing

5.2 Effect of Opting Out
Opting out of SMS messaging will not affect your enrollment status, access to educational services, academic
standing, or ability to communicate with Staff through other channels.

5.3 Opting Back In
If you have previously opted out, you may opt back in by replying START to the number from which you
previously received messages, or by contacting your Content Coach.

5.4 HELP Keyword
You may text HELP to any myConnect number at any time to receive information about the messaging
program, including how to opt out and how to contact Acceleration Academies.

6. Costs & Carrier Charges
Acceleration Academies does not charge any fee for sending or receiving messages through the Service.
Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply. Acceleration Academies is not
responsible for any charges imposed by your wireless carrier. The Service is designed to work with major U.S.
wireless carriers but delivery is not guaranteed across all carriers or devices.

7. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for providing and maintaining accurate phone number information. When responding to
messages, you agree to communicate respectfully, refrain from transmitting threatening, harassing, or
inappropriate content, refrain from sharing personally identifiable information of others, and use the
messaging service only for its intended educational purpose. Your phone number serves as your identifier;
you are responsible for maintaining the security of your mobile device.

8. Data Privacy & Security

8.1 Information Collected
Through the Service, Acceleration Academies collects mobile phone numbers, message content and media,
message metadata (timestamps, delivery status), and device/carrier information as provided by the
messaging infrastructure.

8.2 Use of Information

Information is used exclusively for facilitating Staff-student/guardian communication, maintaining engagement
records, content moderation and safety monitoring, legal compliance, and improving educational
communications.

8.3 Information Sharing
Acceleration Academies does not sell, rent, or share your phone number or message content with third parties
for marketing or commercial purposes. Information may be shared with service providers that facilitate
message delivery, government authorities when required by law, and when necessary to protect the safety of
a student or other individual.

8.4 FERPA Compliance
To the extent that information transmitted through the Service constitutes education records under the Family
Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), 20 U.S.C. § 1232g, such information is maintained and
protected in accordance with FERPA requirements.

8.5 COPPA Considerations
Acceleration Academies does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the
Service without verifiable parental consent as required by COPPA. For students under 13, communications
are directed to the parent or legal guardian’s phone number.

9. Disclaimers & Limitations of Liability
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Acceleration Academies does not warrant that
the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. Acceleration Academies does not guarantee
that every message will be delivered successfully. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Acceleration
Academies shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising
from the use of or inability to use the Service. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Acceleration
Academies from claims arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these terms.

10. Modifications, Governing Law & General Provisions
Acceleration Academies reserves the right to modify these Messaging Terms at any time. Material changes
will be communicated through reasonable means. Continued use constitutes acceptance. These terms are
governed by applicable state law. If any provision is held invalid, remaining provisions continue in full force.
Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with the enrollment agreement.
